Ophiuchus, the new zodiac sign
Your horoscope recently changed. Recently, the world wide web is abuzz over searches like “new zodiac signs,’ astrological signs changed, and ‘new horoscope.’ Initially, the thrill was attributable to an individual news story that spread like wildfire after reporting that your traditional astrological signs are off by about a month. However, as the second, somewhat lost a key point was adding a 13th sign to your zodiac: Ophiuchus.
Huh?
As far as Constellations go, Ophiuchus carries a long history, being one of the constellations listed by the astronomer Claudius Ptolemy, who’s notable for “perfecting” the (false) geocentric Solar System. By using a name meaning “serpent bearer” in Greek, the constellation is represented being a man holding a snake (the smallish constellation Serpens). When it comes to origin of this name, you can find theories, the commonest being how the constellation represents Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine, who learned his craft from watching a healthy snake bring an ill one healing herbs. Additional popular theory is the constellation represents Laocoon.
Now, what about Astronomy?
Observationally speaking, Ophiuchus is a large, dim constellation located above Scorpius and below Hercules. To discover the borders of this constellation, Find fiery red Antares in Scorpius and Rasalgethi, alpha Hercules. With regards to lies Ophiuchus. Unfortunately, due to the dim Stars, this isn’t a fairly easy constellation to see within the Cleveland suburbs, let alone the city itself. Aside from the dim stars, Ophiuchus just isn’t a high-flying constellation, either, meaning that it may often be caught in city light domes. In form, the constellation appears to be a stretched out house that you may see from a young child’s drawing.
What about a Telescope?
Ophiuchus is situated directly on the edge within the Summer Milky Way, which means, since we’re facing the old stars belonging to the galactic center in the summertime, many globular clusters are to be found here. So, find a sky chart and prepare to watch out for M9, 10, 12, 14, 19, 62, ad 107, all of these are globulars. Besides the bounty of globular clusters, there is also Barnard’s Star, the 2nd closest star to the Sun ( just the Alpha Centauri system is closer).
Unfortunately, you need to wait 3-4 months to check out Ophiuchus since it is presently lost in the Sun’s glare.
So, while astrology itself could be just silliness, it will still can lead one into the legitimate, fascinating science/hobby of astronomy.
Whats my horoscope?
Ophiuchus – The Serpent Holder
You’re natural therapist and healer of The Universe. There appears to be an emotional distance of some kind-from one parent, or from both-or, perhaps, from being an only child, and thus, in early childhood, you could feel unavailable or neglected somewhat. You’re sensitive and intuitive, this can at first, seem challenging to handle, yet it’s precisely these experiences which later offer you sympathy together with the compassion to put out a helping hand to others.
Simply because you tend to see life relating to health and sickness more than other folks do, you can become fanatical about your well being, changing cures and dietary regimes at an escalating rate. One week’s panacea for all ills is forgotten another moment, when something else takes a place. No one is ever well enough, however rosy-cheeked and energetic they might seem, and anyone who admits to feeling under par is bombarded with a choice of the latest vitamins along with a lot of advice.
However well meant may be, it’s easy to get the feeling that by turning so much of your loving care and your attention onto others, you’re attempting not to look too closely at yourself. This will be true, and soon you do start to focus on your inner voice and obtain become close with your real feelings- which could, occasionally, be painful-you cannot heal yourself: of which this you should do before you heal others.
All gifts and talents, whenever they remain unused and undeveloped, can turn sour and come in surprising ways. Regarding those born beneath Ophiuchus, this often takes the form of interfering in the lives of others, and their conversation can vary endlessly spanning a whole range of quite imaginary woes-both their own and other people’s-which they take great pleasure in discussing.
When you finally get hold of your real healing powers, however, and permit that energy to flow, you have a tendency to stop just handing out advice and listening properly. Then, you’re perfect for helping individuals who are needing comfort arrive at terms with illness and depression, and then to get a new constructive life style. Like Asclepius, who raised the dead, you seem to view the plight of folks in despair, as well as know how to light a candle within their darkness, to steer them back towards a fuller, happier life.
You’re, the fact is that, fantastic at coping with all kinds of people. You are able to tune into the underlying humanity in anyone, whether are extrovert and simple, or more complex and inward looking. This capacity to get on with anyone is definitely a rare gift, leading them to be welcome wherever you may go, and enabling them to help others.
Simply because you can recognize selection of forms of people, you are making not only one of the best therapists but will also the most impressive actors, actresses and entertainers, as this natural empathy is the reason why it is possible to access, and portray, nearly any role. There is a link between drama and therapy: dreams, which therapists, use to search for in the same way drama does, which was thought of by Greeks as being healing towards the soul. And it is, actually, often by example, and through parables and stories, those born under Ophiuchus are able to enlighten to heal.
You do have an inclination, at times, to recognize too strongly with other people. It is possible to so easily absorb the pain, and also the fantasies and dreams, of others that it could be hard for you to hold on to your own personal identity. You have to guard against this, and also to understand how much of your strength you really can afford to offer to others, as well as where they end and someone else’s’ begins. This is also true where intimate relationships with others come to mind, and until you understand how to draw the line, you can attract people to you who take advantage of your sympathy and kindness. On the plus side, however, it’s through your empathy and your ability to live a wide variety of roles, you can apply well during pian endeavours as well as uncover what it implies to become a rounded human being-and the wholeness that is the goal of all varieties of healing.
